Eight areas. One small step.

The Wellness Map is live — one area at a time, with a whole group or one client

Ask a client what is going wrong and you usually get a list. Ask what is holding up, and the room gets quiet. A wellness wheel is one of the oldest ways to widen that view, and it usually shows up as a worksheet the client fills in alone.

The Wellness Map runs it differently. It walks through eight areas of life one at a time: emotional, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, financial and environmental. You can put it on the screen for a whole group or rate it together with one client. It starts with what is going well, and there is no score. The shape on the wheel is where the conversation starts, and the session ends with one small step: what it is, who can help, and when.

There are two sets of questions. General works for most clients. Substance use ties each area to recovery: cravings, support, goals, and what the client wants their money and time to go toward.

Both versions are open to anyone signed in, on either plan. Use the screen when it helps and paper when it fits the room better.

Interactive · Groups and individual sessions · Laptop, tablet, or projector

One area per slide, built to present. In group mode, you click through while everyone marks their own paper wheel, and nothing is entered on screen. With one client, you rate each area together, the wheel draws itself as you go, and the plan prints on one page. A clicker or the arrow keys move the slides, and full screen keeps the focus on the area in front of the room.

Everything for running it on paper. A clinician guide for groups and individual sessions, the wheel, prompt cards for all eight areas in both question sets, and a One Small Step plan sheet the client fills in by hand. Cut the cards apart for a group, or keep the pages as a reference sheet.

How it runs

Map One area at a time. Rate how it is going right now, from running on empty to going well. Any area can be skipped.
Strengths first Start with what is going well and what is already helping, before anyone looks at the low spots.
Talk The client or the group picks one or two areas. The questions and small step ideas come up on screen or on the cards.
One small step Not always the lowest area. The one where a small step would help most. Nothing is saved, so it runs safely on a shared office device.
